Sponge Painting

What you need:
• Canvas
• Dampened Sponges
• Paint
• Paper Plates
• Paper Towel

What you do:
• Squeeze paints onto paper plates.
• Dab a dampened sponge into paint.
• Remove excess paint from sponge by dabbing onto a paper towel.
• Lightly pounce sponge onto canvas creating a lacy or mottled pattern.
• Make sure you constantly change direction to create a random effect.
• Reload sponge as needed, but always remove excess paint before applying to canvas.

Rorschach Painting

What you need:
• Paint
• Paper
• Paper Plates
• Brush

What you do:
• Fold the paper in half.
• Unfold the paper and begin dotting one half of it with blobs, squiggles, and lines of paint.
• Be careful not to get too much paint on the paper, though, or you will end up with a crafty mess.
• After you finish dotting your paper with paint, fold the paper back over and pat it down with your hands.
• Unfold the paper to reveal your beautiful creation.
• Once you’ve finished creating a variety of Rorschach paintings, line them up on the table and determine what each picture looks like.

Bubble Painting

What you need:
Bubble Solution
• Dry Tempera
• Straws
• Canvas
• Bowls

What you do:
• Mix bubble solution with dry tempera till it is thick.
• Blow into it with a straw to create lots and lots of bubbles.
•Then gently place the canvas over the bubbles to take a print from them,
remove, and allow to dry.
• Display.
