Elf on the Shelf

What you need:Elf on the shelf
• Sock
• Jingle  Bell
• Googly eyes
• Tacky glue
• String
• Stuffing
• Ribbon
• A rubber band

What you do:
•  Fill  the toe of your sock with stuffing to create your elf’s body and head.
• Tie off and secure the body and with a string.
• Tie the top of the sock.
• Glue the  jingle bell to the tip of the sock.
• To form the elf’s nose, use your fingertips to grasp a small bunch of stuffing about halfway down from the top of the sock. Wrap a rubber band around the base of the bunch to secure it.
• Glue on the eyes.
• Decorate with a ribbon.

Felt Elf

What you need:
• 2″ Styrofoam ball
• Serrated knife
• Roving or lightly spun yarn
• Needlefelting needle
• 1″ Wooden bead or ball with a flat side
• Fabric glue
• Tacky glue
• White felt
• Red, green or any color you want felt
• Acrylic paint
• Brush

What you do:
• Using the serrated knife, cut a small part of the bottom off the styrofoam ball to create a flat base for it to sit on.
• Needle felt the wool around the ball.
•  Make the hat – Cut a quarter circle from the red felt.
•  Fold into a cone and glue together with fabric glue.
• Make the ears – Cut two pointed ears from the twhite felt.
• Glue the hat and ears on the wooden bead.
• Paint the face on the wooden bead.
• Make the feet – Cut two rectangles of the red felt that cover the bottom of the ball and stick out about 3/4″.
• Round off one end. Roll the rounded end up.
• Assemble the elf – Glue the feet to the bottom of the ball.
• Then the wooden ball to the top.
• Let dry.
• Display.
